The paper “Sustainable Stabilization of Lateritic Soil Using Rice Husk Ash: A Review of Its Application in Ghanaian Construction” reviews the effectiveness of using rice husk ash (RHA), an agricultural waste product, to stabilize lateritic soil for construction in Ghana. The study consolidates data from previous research to assess improvements in the soil’s geotechnical and mechanical properties, determine optimal stabilization ratios, and evaluate the potential for large-scale application. The findings indicate that incorporating RHA reduces the plasticity index and increases the compressive strength of lateritic soil, enhancing its mechanical properties, durability, and workability. The review concludes that RHA is a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable alternative for soil stabilization in Ghana, aligning with both indigenous building practices and modern engineering standards.
