Our company was recognized with an Award for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion by the Women in Engineering (WinE) of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) during their 25th Anniversary Dinner held at the auditorium of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra on November 30, 2024.
The event, which brought together industry leaders, engineers, and advocates for gender equality, honored Constromart Africa for its commitment to promoting an inclusive workplace. The award recognizes organizations that actively promote diversity and enhance opportunities for women in engineering and technical fields.
“This recognition is a testament to our belief that diversity is not just a metric to achieve; it is a cornerstone of innovation and excellence,” said Jacqueline Sampah-Adjei, Manager for Partnerships and Business Development who received the award on behalf of Constromart Africa. “We are proud to foster an environment where talent from all backgrounds can thrive and contribute to the growth of our industry.”
The night was filled with celebration as other notable recipients were also honored for their contributions to engineering and the promotion of diversity. The Ghana Grid Company, Electricity Company of Ghana, Ghana Gas Company, Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority, Ghana Water Limited, Telecel Ghana, ACON, and Fabrimetal Ghana Ltd were also recognized for their initiatives and achievements in advancing the role of women in engineering and creating inclusive environments.
The event also featured distinguished women engineering practitioners who were presented with lifetime achievement awards, honoring their extraordinary contributions to the field. Their dedication and perseverance continue to inspire future generations of female engineers in Ghana and beyond.
The evening highlighted the importance of collaboration, recognition, and the continued push for diversity within the engineering profession. The WinE’s efforts, alongside the GhIE, aim to build a future where women are equally represented and celebrated in the engineering workforce. As the event concluded, the messages of empowerment and commitment to diversity resonated with all attendees, setting a positive tone for the coming years in the engineering sector. The 25th Anniversary Dinner was not just a celebration of past accomplishments but also a rallying cry for ongoing efforts toward fostering inclusivity in the engineering domain.
