Abstract Acceptance: IAIA24

We are thrilled to announce that the abstract submitted by our colleagues Irene Yeboah, Antoinette Gabby Hayes, and Beryl Buanya has been accepted for presentation at the IAIA24 conference in Dublin, Ireland, from 24 – 27 April, 2024.

Their paper, titled “The Economic and Social Struggles of PAPs in Integrating into New settlement”, sheds light on the vulnerability of the common practice of relocating project-affected persons during infrastructure development. We extend our deepest congratulations to them for the recognition of sharing their insights at such a prestigious international event.

The IAIA (International Association for Impact Assessment) is a global network of impact assessment professionals, with the aim of promoting best practice in the field of impact assessment.

The 2024 conference is under the theme: IMPACT ASSESSMENT FOR A JUST TRANSFORMATION. The conference seeks to promote impact assessment practice in supporting moves toward more resolute action on the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss. This realignment of policy and practice involves all sectors of society and emphasizes the need for a Just Transformation. The impact assessment community can play a critical role in moving from a Just Transition to a Just Transformation.

We are immensely proud of our colleagues for this achievement and are looking forward to their presentation at the conference. Their contribution to the theme of the conference aligns with our commitment to making a positive impact on society and the environment.
