Constromart Africa Rehabilitated Maternal and Child Health Facility in Ghana’s Bono East Region

Constromart Africa has successfully carried out a Community Impact Initiative aimed at rehabilitating a vital Maternal and Child Health facility in Muruchuso, located in the Bono East Region of Ghana. This initiative is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare services in the area.

The project focused on restoring two key structures: the clinic and the nurses’ quarters. In a significant refurbishment effort, the clinic underwent complete reroofing to ensure durability and protection against the elements. Additional enhancements included new ceiling installations and upgraded electrical systems. The interior and exterior walls and panels of the clinic were extensively repaired and freshly painted, revitalizing the facility for better healthcare delivery.

Equally important, the nurses’ quarters, which accommodate medical staff, also received comprehensive repairs and a fresh coat of paint, ensuring a comfortable living environment for the midwife and nursing personnel who serve the community.

To further elevate healthcare services, Constromart Africa equipped the clinic with necessary facilities, including a maternal delivery bed and various essential medical equipment necessary to support maternal and childcare services. Additionally, the waiting area for patients was furnished to create a welcoming atmosphere.

This Community Impact Initiative is the latest in a series of outreach activities by Constromart Africa in the Atebubu-Amantin Community. The company previously organized a successful Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, providing free screenings to over 200 participants, thereby contributing to public health education.

Constromart Africa has been actively engaged in the region since 2020, executing a World Bank-funded Transport Sector Improvement Project. This project involves working as part of the Monitoring Consultant to oversee the rehabilitation of several kilometers of low-volume roads, farm tracks, bridges, and cross culverts, and building social infrastructure such as schools and health centers, along with water supply facilities.

The Community Impact Initiative implemented by the company with its own funding reflects Constromart Africa’s dedication to sustainability, encouraging staff to volunteer their time and resources to uplift local communities. This effort aligns with the global aim of achieving sustainable development and improving living standards for all.
