Two outstanding papers submitted by our colleagues from the Environment and Sustainability Unit have been accepted for presentation at the upcoming IWMSA LaWTIG 2023 Conference & Exhibition! This prestigious event will take place on the 18th and 19th October 2023 at the University of Cape Town Breakwater Lodge Conference Centre.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Yvonne Durowaa Ntow Daniel Johnson Isaac Acquah, and Jacqueline Sampah-Adjei for their exceptional contributions to the field.
The first paper, entitled “Analyzing the Consequences of Improper Storage and Preservation Techniques on Geomembrane Integrity,” delves into the critical examination of the effects of inadequate storage and preservation techniques on the integrity of geomembranes.
The second paper, titled “Evaluating the Influence of Waste Dump Leachate on Groundwater Quality: A Case Study of an Accra Waste Dump Site in Ghana,” presents a comprehensive study on the impact of waste dump leachate on groundwater quality in Ghana. The insights gained from this research are invaluable in the development of strategies to mitigate environmental contamination risks associated with waste disposal.
